AI: the AfDB and UNDP aim to raise 10 billion dollars for Africa
The African Development Bank (AfDB) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) are moving ahead with their joint plan: raising up to 10 billion dollars by 2035 for artificial intelligence in Africa.
The programme will start in 5 countries, then 20 countries by the end of 2027. In each country, they first study where AI can save time and money, then prepare public and private projects. The stated goal is 25 million jobs by 2035. The first countries have not been named yet, and no funding has been signed so far.
